Last month a husky visited my clinic which forced me to pause n ponder are we doing right to them?
I mean rearing them in extreme hot n humid climate of India even though we know that they belong to Siberia(extremely cold place).
I myself am a die hard fan of husky n wish could have one,it’s piearsing eyes, double coated hair and wolf like appearance make it all the more attractive. Temprament wise is good too but is not meant for 1st time owners. Yes people are rearing husky with the excuse that they have arranged AC for them. Every creature tries to adjust n adopt to its environment to thrive. But I think we need to understand the difference between thriving n having a good quality of life.Would we appreciate locked up in a warm room in Siberia through out the year. Then how do we expect the husky to be happy locked up in AC room in any city of India. So are we justified in adopting any of the breeds belonging to extremely cold places. Can we consider few points before welcoming the new family member like
- the purpose of owning the pet
- the space avilable at home
- the time we have to spare for there care
- the climatic conditions.
Hope together we can make a difference in the life of those who give us so much selflessly.
